Who holds your data
ADEPTASK PTY LTD is the data controller for this site, and is the party answerable for the data on it. Its details are on the legal notice.
Assets Management for YouTrack is built by Adeptask and Appfero together, and both companies read the early access list in a shared tracker. Appfero receives your data. It does not control it.
What we collect when you sign up
Four things, and nothing else:
- Your email address.
- Your answer about where you run YouTrack, if you gave one. It is optional.
- Anything you wrote in the free text box, if you wrote anything. It is optional too.
- The time you submitted the form.
No IP address and no user agent is stored with your signup.
The free text box is yours to fill or to leave empty. Whatever you write in it is kept with your signup and deleted with it.
What submitting the form does
The form posts from your browser straight to Adeptask's YouTrack, which is hosted by JetBrains. It creates a YouTrack account for your email address and files your request as a ticket belonging to that account.
YouTrack then emails you about that ticket without being asked to. That is the tracker working as designed rather than a mailing list, and it is the part of this that surprises people, which is why it is written down here.
Who can see it
Adeptask and Appfero, and the tooling used to administer the tracker.
Where it is stored
In Adeptask's own YouTrack Cloud instance, run by JetBrains as our processor.
This page is served from Cloudflare Workers, so Cloudflare handles your IP address to deliver it, and the form post travels from your browser to JetBrains directly, so JetBrains sees your IP address too. Neither is kept with your signup.
What we use it for
To contact you about early access, and to tell you when Assets Management for YouTrack ships. It goes nowhere beyond the two companies and the providers named above.
How long we keep it
Until the early access programme closes, and then all of it is deleted. That includes signups we have marked as not a fit or as no response.
Deleting your data
Email us and ask. We delete the ticket, then anonymise the YouTrack account the signup created, and reply to confirm. Within 30 days, and in practice the same week.
Copies inside the tracker provider's backups expire on that provider's own schedule rather than on request. JetBrains publishes a retention period for a cancelled instance but documents nothing about a single deleted ticket, so this is stated as a fact and not promised as a number.
Counting visits
We count visits to this site. It is cookieless: nothing is written to your device's storage, nothing is read from it, and no attribute of your browser is combined into an identifier for you. The counter is self-hosted on the Cloudflare infrastructure already named above, so the data does not leave it, and it is deleted after 90 days.
A page view is recorded on its own, with the page, the site that linked you here, the country the request came from, and the browser and device it was made with as your browser reports them. Those records are only ever read as totals. Your IP address is not recorded: the country is worked out from it as the request arrives, and only the country is kept.
Nothing follows you from one visit to the next. The one thing kept on your device is a timestamp in your browser's cache, which lets the counter tell a first view of the day from a later one, and which resets each day.
